If you’ve ever been on your couch working diligently away on your laptop only to discover that your thighs are being barbecued like tri-trip steaks underneath the keyboard, you’ve probably wished for a something to effective stick under there. Because yeah, dirty computers get really hot.
Fortunately for you there are enterprising companies out there to solve life’s pesky little problems.
A company called ThermaPAK based in California has invented a smart little product that will help your computer, and your legs to a better, more chilled out life.
Like a trivet for your laptop, the eponymous product is made with so-called HeatShift Technology™ specially designed to direct the heat away from the machine and your legs, while at once collecting it inside it surface. It’s made of fairly dense material so it comes in at a hefty 1.5 lbs. But you’ll know it works when you use it, and without “power, refrigeration or noise”.
Most laptop cooling devices are either bulky using hard plastic and a power system that drains computer battery power. The ThermaPAK is inert so no energy is needed at all. It’s just a pad. A pad that sits on your lap.
They accommodate laptops up to 17″, which for all intents and purposes is all of them, and runs up to $35 for the 17″ model – less for smaller ones.
