All kidding aside, every once in a while a piece of artwork comes along that somehow manages to make you feel better about this foggy gray rock we call home. I first came across this real time music animation video last year and then subsequently lost it to the mists of the Internet. Somehow it came back to me one day recently and I knew I had to share it here.
A couple million of you have already viewed this on YouTube so if you’re one of them, watch it again, it holds up. If not, stop what you’re doing, take a deep breath and prepared to be carried away for the four minutes this takes to spellbind its way to the end. If it doesn’t make you feel good, and that’s the goal isn’t it, there’s no saving you.
The video [was shot in] one take (15 hours long), painting on a 12 metres paper sheet (by joining together 30 A3 sheets). Then, by editing, the 15 hours became the 3:30 minutes of the video, synchronizing each painted note with the played one.
