The Quick Look – Estació de França Train Station

Even with all its issues, its overpriced beer, dramatic unpredictable economics and its on again off again romance with the tabloids, I do love me some Europe. The legacy of its history makes it fabulously photogenic and those that are keen enough with the lens know just how to make it timeless. I’m in an unending dance with Europe not only because I have a history there, in reality, in story and in fiction, but because I appreciate the grandeur of it all.

This dramatic photo of the Estació de França train station in Barcelona, Spain was taken by a shutter fiend named Tandito based out of Mexico. Photos like this certainly romanticize the hell out of Europe and its majestic facade, but in my head, every surface, every fantastically engineered structure, every girder still resonates with the surreal.

Of course this Quick Look photo makes we want to jet over and take some European Train Holidays next year, take pictures and jump in to my imagination feet first. If there’s anything that a jaunt through the countryside is good for, it’s that. Train stations like this abound on the continent – cities like Milan, Budapest, Vienna, Berlin and Brussels are especially worth the venturing. Look up wide eyed into their architecture and be amazed.
