Stop-motion animations are more elaborate than ever, each new artist upping the ante for those to come after. That being said, there’s some fantastic videos around nowadays that are taking the art form in new directions, for the benefit of all of us. Taking cues from Blu and other sto-mo masters comes another group fine-tuning the craft. They’re calling themselves Quintessenz Creation and they’re based out of Germany.
Check out how these guys took a perfectly good warehouse space and turned it into a chamber of the surreal, lacing it through with self-propelling lines, scuttling box piles and spraypaint, resulting in what looks like a high school geometry teacher nightmare. All set to the wicked beats of Pretty Lights.
From their YouTube page:
“Four month exhausting hard work in an abandoned area, no sun just artificial light. The final result, a stop motion movie with no digital effects at all, everything is handmade. About 5000 pictures are processed with an average by 15 pictures per second. The music is by Pretty Lights from Denver, Colorado, thanks Derek!”
